Holiday House Tour 2014

Happy Holidays to you!

I can't believe my holiday decorating is ready to share...I feel ahead of the game for was actually ready last weekend...I just realized it's already the 7th...I can't believe Christmas is just around the corner!

Last year I bought a new Christmas tree from Pottery Barn and it set me back a pretty penny.  So, this is the first year that I'm actually seeing the tree decorated.  It seems pretty wobbly which worries me (I'm guessing I did something wrong when I put it together)....and of course I'm too impatient to wait so I went ahead and decorated it :/..fingers crossed it doesn't come crashing down...

I decided to focus the majority of my decorating in my dining room this year mainly due the height of the ceiling in there (I wasn't sure if the tree would fit in my foyer area)...the only problem is I don't really go in the dining room so I'm finding that I'm not even turning the tree on :(

Anyway...I'm rambling...mainly because I'm exhausted - I spent the day in NYC yesterday...more to come on that in my next post :)

Here's the tree:

You'll notice some of the same elements as last year but almost everything is being used in a different way or space.

Man, candle light, natural and artificial light sure aren't the best mix for photos...I really need to learn how to use lightroom so I can fix this ;)

I decided I wanted a more interesting bottle for my olive oil (I know...I have issues).  Well I found this cool antique American soda bottle online and decided to give it a try.  I wish you could see the etching on it, I think it's really the stopper sticking out of it...sigh.

It's the best I could do - I shaved it down and it's still not all the way in plus a small fracture in the glass started to form so I didn't want to push it (I'm not sure if it was sent to me like that or if I caused it)...

Hope you are getting into the holiday spirit as well, it will be here before we know it :)
