Vintage Lamp Redo & A Little Outdoor Redecorating

Well, the only downside of having beautiful spring weather is the sunburn you get when you forget to wear sunscreen...

We had a yard sale yesterday and while it wasn't as busy as I would have liked we did manage to sell quite a few things and donated the rest.  Gotta love spring cleaning!

I also took some time to finish my vintage lamp project...here are the before and afters...I used Valspar silver paint (in Nickel and brilliant metal - silver) along with Looking Glass spray on the glass.

I wanted it to be a little taller but that would involve a custom shade and I just wasn't interested in putting out $100 for one.  BTW I did try to reuse the existing shade frame and DIY a new shade...it turned out pretty awful so I spared you the details...

I also found these great outdoor pillows at Target along with this outdoor rug that I scored on Groupon.  So I decided to refresh my front porch a little...

Hydrangeas (my favorite) from Lowes (Mother's day special!) finish the look...

Have you started redecorating or planting for Spring yet?  I love this time of year.  This time next week I'll be in Seattle for my birthday!  I can't wait to share the photos and finds from my trip :)

Happy Treasure Hunting!

  1. I love the lamp redo! And the porch looks great, you just need a sweet tea and it would be perfect. :) Have fun on your trip. I have been outside on the deck enjoying the weather and working on lots of small projects. A small town near me had their junk day today, I was out last night filling my car with goodies!
