Eleven Things Volume 2 & the Ugly Chair Reveal!!

1.  The weekend goes by way too fast...I'm just sayin'...

2.  If you're going to advertise that you're having an estate sale - I feel like the whole house should be open...none of this business of a glorified yard sale or only the kitchen is open this weekend but next weekend we'll have the other rooms open...who has time to come back every weekend??

3.  Yes, I collect yard sticks.  I don't know why.  I'm not the only one, trust me.  I almost tripped a guy who got to a sale this weekend before me and nabbed two great ones.  One day I'll make something out of them and you'll see how awesome they are and stop giving me funny looks...:)

4.  I didn't mean for this post to be so 'ranty'...I'll try to be more positive from here on out lol

5.  As much as I love treasure hunting...I also really love re-working what I already have and moving stuff around the house.  Once I'm married I'm pretty sure this is going to freak him out...

6.  I love old frames...I'm pretty sure I have my 'share' now...along with vintage seascape oil paintings-here's the one that I won through an online estate auction in VA:

7.  I just had to upgrade my Google account because I used up my photo quota...sheesh...

8.  Here is the ugly chair big huge awesome {expensive} reveal!
She's not so ugly now, eh?  Just took way too much money...but I think she's pretty beautiful now...so glad I decided to go with the tufted back.

Don't adjust your monitor--those are MINI mint milanos.  I was speechless...

9.  You really have to look past the orange crushed velvet rick-rack trimmed cat pee-smelling ugliness to see the possibilites...let me remind you of her sordid past:

10.  Are you addicted to Etsy?  I'm pretty sure I am.  I think my gallery wall is a good indication...it's not ALL from Etsy...but pretty close to half...

11.  I truly miss my best friend, Lucy.  My puppy who passed away almost a year ago next month.  Trying not to take anyone for granted in my life, you just never know what can happen.

Happy Treasure Hunting!

  1. I lost my best friend and soul mate almost 2 years ago, and I still think about her sweet face! It is hard to lose a pet, no matter what anyone says!

    1. I couldn't agree with you more. They come into our lives for such a short time and make such an impact. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about how much joy she brought me :) I just miss her so much.

    1. Thanks! I LOVE the color of the fabric...it took weeks to get the right color and velvet-the first one I chose was discontinued but I think this one is even better. Hope all is well :)

  3. Your chair is gorgeous! I can't believe the transformation - the tufted back is amazing with the blue velvet. I have come over from the Thrifty Treasures because it caught my eye :) I'm very sorry about your sweet Lucy. I understand how difficult it is as I too have lost a cherished pet.

  6. Hi Sandra,
Thanks so much, I really appreciate it! The paint color is Dark Night (4003-4C) by Valspar in Satin (I think it was their high def signature line which helps with coverage). The color looks a little lighter in the photos - it changes during the day from bluey-purple with lots of gray. Hope that helps, thanks for the question :)
